Vegan Butter Whole Wheat Biscuits
Vegan butter is a substitute you can use for regular animal product butter. Also instead of all white all purpose or self rising flour, we’ll use whole wheat flour. Let’s try something new with biscuits this time around!
Vegan butter biscuts
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 cup cold vegan butter spread, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Set the oven to 425°F before you prepare your biscuits.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
Take out your large bowl, stir with a large spoon your whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and granulated sugar.
Cut in the Vegan Butter Spread:
Take your cold vegan butter out of your refrigerator, chop it up and add it to your dry mixture. With your hands crush the butter in the flour to small pieces for 30 to 45 seconds.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Its time to add your buttermilk. Use your spoon to mix the dough together into a ball. Do not over mix and make certain it is not sticky.
Roll and Cut the Biscuits:
Flour a surface to knead your dough by folding it sideways several times. Roll out the dough.
Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to press down on the dough to form your biscuits.
Bake the Biscuits:
You can now place your biscuits in a baking sheet or a cast iron skillet.
Bake your biscuits for 15 minutes or until they’re golden brown on the top.
Serve Warm:
They’d ready, enjoy your biscuits!
