Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti (or your preferred pasta)
  • 1 cup broccoli, chopped into small florets
  • ½ red bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ green bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ cup red onion, chopped
  • 1½ cups mild cheese sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp sesame oil (optional, for added depth)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing vegetables)
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cook the Noodles
  2. In a large pot, salt the water and bring it to a boil. Add your pasta to the pot. My pots aren't big enough to not split the noodles. So I break them in half.
  3. Step 2: Sauté the Vegetables
  4. In a large cast iron skillet pour in the olive oil, and make sure the burner is on medium heat. After about 2 minutes of it heating, add the chopped broccoli, red bell pepper, green bell pepper and red onions. Sautee for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. Step 3: Add Seasonings
  6. Season the vegetables with your garlic powder and black pepper. Then add the soy sauce and sesame oil (optional). Stir the vegetables to make sure all the vegetables get flavored.
  7. Step 4: Incorporate the Cheese Sauce
  8. Lower the burner to medium-low. Stir in your mild cheese sauce into the vegetables. If the sauce gets too thick, a little milk (1/2 cup to 3/4 cup) and turn off the burner.
  9. Step 5: Combine Everything &Enjoy!
  10. Make sure the burner on the skillet (with the vegetables and cheese sauce) are off. Add in your cooked spaghetti noodles to the skillet with the sauce and vegetables. Stir the noodles and cover with a lid. Let sit for 2 minutes.
